Budget airline Go says passenger numbers rose 74 per cent in February from the previous year.
Go said it carried 358,626 passengers in February, up from 205,954 passengers a year ago.
Go said its rise in traffic reflected how budget airlines are winning market share at the expense of more established carriers. No-frills carriers have continued to pick up traffic despite an overall sector slump.
"Our figures reflect the trend of business travellers switching permanently from high cost airlines to low-cost airlines," Go chief executive Ms Barbara Cassani said in a statement.
