A Tyrone priest has been appointed to succeed Mgr Denis Faul as principal of St Patrick's Academy in Dungannon

A Tyrone priest has been appointed to succeed Mgr Denis Faul as principal of St Patrick's Academy in Dungannon. Father Gerard McAleer, joint manager of the Tyrone minor football team for the past eight seasons, takes up his new position in September.

He is currently principal of St Brigid's High School in Armagh. Mgr Faul retires in June after 40 years at the Dungannon grammar school.
