THE strike at FAS, which threatened to disrupt training courses and Community Employment schemes for 57,000 people from Monday, has been deferred. This follows 12 hours of intensive talks yesterday.

SIPTUs 1,650 members in FAS are expected to endorse the decision to re enter negotiations on pay and new work practices when they meet today.
