Harare - White farmers in Zimbabwe's Karoi district stopped work yesterday in protest against the latest attack on a colleague as the country's land crisis deepened following elections in June.

Farming officials in Karoi, 210 km north-west of Harare, said self-styled war veterans had beaten the farmer, Mr David Brands, unconscious yesterday morning. They said his injuries were not life-threatening.
