TIRANA - The exiled pretender to Albania's throne joined the country's opposition yesterday to press for the government's resignation over failed pyramid savings schemes which have beggared hundreds of thousands of investors.

Leka Zogu, who lives in South Africa, called on right-wing President Sali Berisha to hold fresh elections and a referendum to enable Albania's 3.4 million people to decide whether they wanted to remain under a republic or restore the monarchy.
