Ankara - The former Turkish culture minister and prominent secularist academic, Mr Ahmet Taner Kislali (60), died yesterday in a bomb attack which police suspect may have been carried out by Islamic militants.

Mr Kislali was fatally injured in a blast triggered when he picked up a package left on the bonnet of his car in the capital, Ankara. He died on his way to hospital.
