Ex-`Independent' journalist dies

Ms Ita Mallon, former women's page editor with the Irish Independent, died on Saturday night in Dublin. She was aged 90.

Ms Ita Mallon, former women's page editor with the Irish Independent, died on Saturday night in Dublin. She was aged 90.

Ms Mallon entered journalism in the 1930s. She began as a staff journalist with the Irish Independent in 1949, and was women's page editor in the 1960s and 1970s.
