Brussels - The EU's human rights record was criticised yesterday in a report by the European Parliament. The report accused member-states of tolerating police and prison brutality and discrimination. The document, adopted by MEPs by 246 votes to 141, with 50 abstentions, named and shamed most of the 15 member-states for failing to honour commitments enshrined in the EU's Charter on Fundamental Rights.
