Gardaí in Cork have recaptured a prisoner who escaped from custody for the third time during a court hearing on Wednesday.
Niall Fitzpatrick (35), from Ballinderry Park in Mayfield, Co Cork was arrested at a house in Wesley Terrace, Southern Road, in Cork city, just before 7 a.m.
The Garda search began for Fitzpatrick began when he escaped for the second time in three months. He also escaped from prison in the mid-1990s.
Fitzpatrick was remanded in custody until Wednesday during a brief hearing at Cork District Court today.
