Eleven held over dissident activity

Ten men have been arrested by gardaí in north Dublin as part of an investigation into dissident republican activity.

A Garda spokesman said the arrests took place in the Balbriggan area at about 10pm last night.

All those arrested range in age from their mid 20s to their 40s.

They are detained at Santry, Swords, Blanchardstown, Pearse Street and Malahide Garda stations under Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act 1939.

Elsewhere, a man is being questioned by the PSNI about dissident activity in Northern Ireland.

The suspect (34) was arrested this morning in north Belfast and is being held at Antrim police station.
