Principals and second-level teachers in the general Limerick region will want to know about a meeting on "the European dimension - opportunities and possibilities" taking place in the Limerick Education Centre, on Thursday, February 19th, at 7.30pm. Speakers will include Des McLoughlin, national IT2000 schools co-ordinator with Telecom Eireann, and Andrew Ryan, co-ordinator of the European Studies Programme with the Department of Education.

The meeting will outline the practical opportunities and possibilities associated with the implementation of ICT 2000, the new Department strategy on information and communications technology. Particular emphasis will be placed on issues such as the Internet in schools, existing and upcoming European initiatives which may provide a focus for the new developments in the secondlevel school environment.
