THE ANNUAL TCD secondhand book sale, which must rank as one of the most impressive in the country, starts this Thursday at 5.30p.m. and continues until Saturday in the college's Exam Hall.
Admission on Thursday costs £2 and includes a glass of wine and in addition to the sale itself, an auction of rare- books and journals will take place at 7 p.m.
At last year's auction, Campus Times picked up a very nice, early 19th-century edition of Byron's complete works which we fully intends to open some day.
The sale continues on Friday from 10 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. or thereabouts.
Admission on these two days is free. All proceeds go towards the purchase of research materials for the college libraries.
Meanwhile, meteorologist Dr Brendan McWilliams, writer of The Irish Times's daily Weather Eye column will speak on The Weather in Literature in TCD's Jonathan Swift Theatre B, Arts Block at - 7.30 p.m. tonight.
