The Department of Education and Science has submitted plans to build a new 16-classroom primary school at Park Hunters Run, Castaheaney, near Clonee, Co Dublin. There will be a three storey teaching block plus an administration block and general purpose hall. This proposal is in addition to a current application for a six-classsroom temporary primary school.

Elsewhere in west Co Dublin, planning permission has been granted for a "Learning and Innovation Centre" at Blanchardstown IT. The centre will house mainly research and incubation units as well as an administration area. In addition, major building work is due to start on four further buildings to include a teaching block, library and administration building, multi-purpose area and an apprentice training building.
