Bicentenary of the 1798 Rising

A special category will be offered in the Irish Times/Trinity

College 1998 Schools' Competition to commemorate the bicentenary of the 1798 Rising. The same rules and conditions will apply as for the Schools' Competition. Entries for this category should be on a separate form, again available from the Department of Education, Trinity College, Dublin 2. Students may enter for this category as well as for any category listed above but the same project may not be entered for more than one category.

A reading list will be provided as a guideline for the 1798 Rising category and as in the general competition, the focus may be on European or local history. Please mark your entries 1798 Rising.

Prizes will be awarded as follows: Junior - first prize £75, second prize £40; Transition Year - first prize £100, second prize £50; Senior - first prize £150, second prize £100.
