DUBLIN topped the list of places in which residential property tax was paid last year. Figures supplied in a written reply by the Minister for Finance, Mr Quinn, to the PD leader, Ms Mary Harney, showed that 5,107 houses in the county area were levied. In the areas with postal codes Dublin 6 had the highest number of residential tax payers at 1,487 followed by Dublin 14 1,448 Dublin 18 1,367 and Dublin 4 1,238.
In the State as a whole there were 19,500 taxpayers, of whom 14,325 were in the Dublin area, Co Leitrim, with only six, had fewest.
