A south Dublin park is to reopen today  following a €430,000 revamp.

A south Dublin park is to reopen today  following a €430,000 revamp.

South Dock Street Park in Ringsend will be officially unveiled later today by Lord Mayor, Councillor Vincent Jackson.

The recreational ground, known locally as The Swings, has been a playground for youngsters in the area for almost 100 years. The new look secure children's playground has been fitted with a range of new play equipment, a new rubber safety surface and seating for parents.

It also boasts the installation of a state of the art floodlit Astroturf pitch which will cater for a wide variety of sports such as football, basketball and tennis.
