The body of a man found in a burnt-out car in Dublin city yesterday has been named as Mr James Ward, formerly from Cabra.

The body of a man found in a burnt-out car in Dublin city yesterday has been named as Mr James Ward, formerly from Cabra.

The 37-year-old's body was found in the back seat of a French-registered Renault in Blackhall Place at around 5 p.m.

A postmortem examination revealed he died as a result of smoke inhalation.

A garda spokeswoman said a decision on whether a criminal investigation would be launched depended on the outcome of a technical examination of the vehicle.
