Kerry forward Kieran Donaghy is expected to be out of action for at least two months after he undergoes an operation on a stress fracture in his foot. The Austin Stacks player is reportedly due in Dublin today for surgery on the injury he sustained in the National League final against Derry in Croke Park on April 26th.

Kingdom boss Jack O’Connor hopes to have ‘Star’ back fit within eight weeks, meaning he would miss the Munster championship opener against Cork or Waterford on June 7th and the final on July 5th if they progress.

O’Connor already has plenty to worry about. The manager saw Killian Young sidelined this week with a shoulder injury, while Paul Galvin (groin), Tadhg Kennelly (hand), Eoin Brosnan and Tommy Walsh (both hamstring) are all struggling.

Meanwhile, Denis Glennon returned to training with Westmeath last night after his self-imposed exile.
