Domestic waste not collected

Domestic waste from more than 2,000 homes was not collected by Cork Corporation yesterday because homeowners failed to pay refuse charges. Under a new collection scheme, the householders have been issued with wheelie bins, but unless the bins display stickers showing that refuse charges have been paid up to December 31st last year the corporation will not remove the refuse.
