LONDON - The British Medical Association (BMA) yesterday called for tougher laws on alcopops, with a warning that an epidemic of liver disease could be seen within 20 years if 11-year-olds were encouraged to drink heavily. The BMA said the alcohol level in designer drinks should be lowered and that deliberate targeting of teenagers by the brewing industry should be made illegal.
