London - German doctors have designed an artificial eye which blinks at the same time as the user's healthy eye, according to the Lancet medical journal.
False eyelids currently used by people who have lost an eye tend to look unnatural due to a lack of movement, a problem which doctors at the Humboldt University in Berlin claim to have overcome.
They have connected an artificial eyelid made of latex to a tiny micromotor via a polymide thread to synchronise its movement with the natural eyelid.
