The Government has been criticised for failing to meet its target of employing 3 per cent of people with a disability in the Civil Service.

Figures released to Mr Richard Bruton of Fine Gael show that 777 people with disabilities, representing 2.8 per cent of the staff, were employed in the Civil Service on April 1st.

In the Dail reply the Minister for Finance, Mr McCreevy, said the fact that the figure had dropped below the target of 3 per cent was a "cause of concern and the matter is being kept under review".
