Derry man denies sex abuse charges

A DERRY man has been returned for trial in custody charged with sexually abusing a boy less than 16 years old

A DERRY man has been returned for trial in custody charged with sexually abusing a boy less than 16 years old. The defendant, who cannot be named for legal reasons, appeared at a preliminary inquiry before Derry Magistrates Court yesterday.

The 30-year-old is charged with committing four acts of buggery and four acts of gross indecency, alleged to have taken place between January 1st, 1994, and March 31st, 1996. The defendant, who denies the charges, will stand trial at the next sitting of Derry Crown Court on May 12th.
