Cork County Council yesterday agreed to defer a decision on a proposal by former Cork East Labour TD, Mr John Mulvihill, to revoke planning permission to the ESB for the erection of over 80 220KV pylons across Cork Harbour from Aghada to Raffeen.

Councillors deferred voting on the motion brought under Section 30 of the 1963 Planning Act after the County Manager, Mr Maurice Moloney, explained the motion would have to be supported by evidence of a change in circumstances from when planning was granted in 1997. A special meeting will decide on the matter on March 22nd.
