Four people were killed when a plane plunged into an apartment block in Hollywood, following the discovery of more bodies in the charred wreckage of the building.

Officials in Los Angeles had earlier said that two people had died in the crash on Friday afternoon, including the pilot of the light aircraft and one resident of the building, and that seven had been injured.

But Coroner's Investigator Mr Mario Sainz said that a thorough search on the building had uncovered two more victims of the crash that sent panic through the densely populated area of the second biggest US city.

The latest victims of the crash, that officials said appeared to be an accident, were not identified and it was unclear whether they were on the plane that crashed shortly after take-off or if they were in the building.
