At least 15 people were killed and 30 wounded today after a car bomb exploded in Iraq's southern city of Basra, police said.
The bombing came three days after Prime Minister Nuri al- Maliki announced a state of emergency to crack down on gangs and feuding Shia factions threatening oil exports.
