Datalex, the Dublin-based travel communications software firm, posted a 27 per cent increase in revenue for the first six months to June.

The company reported an operating loss of $5.8 million, down from $10.52 for last year while operating costs fell to from $13 million to $9.8 million.

Chief executive Mr Neil Beck said the increase in revenue for the period "confirms that the market is continuing to recover and expand".

"Datalex's continued focus on fiscal management has contributed significantly to an improved bottom line. Cost efficiencies achieved in the first half of 2003 will flow through into the second half, and into 2004," Mr Beck said.
