Irish-American choreographer Darrah Carr and Irish composer Jimmy Walsh bring their modern dance company to Dublin for one week only. A member of Banshee, an Irish Women's Artists' Collective based in New York, Carr will show two of her pieces: Shannon, A Celtic Ballet (left), originally commissioned by the One World Foundation, which combines ballet, modern and Irish traditional dance movement in a lyrical portrayal of legend and history as witnessed by the river; and Whirl, a light-hearted piece set to a Celtic rock score by Walsh, winner of the 1993 Eurovision Song Contest.
