Mr Oronto Douglas, the author and environmental lawyer who represented the executed Nigerian writer Ken Saro Wiwa last year, is to attend the Oireachtas Joint Committee on Foreign Affairs meeting today. A representative of Irish Shell is also attending.
Mr Douglas has accused Shell of importing arms to supply Nigerian police guarding the company's facilities in Nigeria. A Shell spokesman this week denied that an admission by another company spokesman of this in the London Observer was genuine.
