London - The owner of a British curry restaurant spent £100,000 brightening up his establishment only to be told the bricks were too clean and out of step with the neighbours. Islington council in north London told Mr Mofakharul Shahin he should blacken the bricks with soot to make the curry house blend in with the rest of the terrace, the Times newspaper reported yesterday.
