Neustadt - The tour operator, Mr Peter Deilmann, built a $100 million a year business from scratch by offering five-star cruises aimed squarely at the upper end of the market.

The Concorde crash was a heavy blow for the man who started out 30 years ago running day trips along the Baltic coast and went on to build Germany's biggest private cruise fleet comprising 11 ships carrying 45,000 passengers a year. "We are still in shock," Mr Deilmann (65) said yesterday.
