Warsaw - Polish police removed hundreds of crosses from outside the former Nazi death camp of Auschwitz yesterday, ending an 11-month protest by radical Catholics that badly damaged relations with Jewish groups.
One large cross associated with Polish-born Pope John Paul was left at the site in southern Poland.
