Cross-border search under way for missing woman

The PSNI and Garda are today conducting a major search operation for a woman missing from her home in the North.

The PSNI and Garda are today conducting a major search operation for a woman missing from her home in the North.

Gardaí and PSNI officers have been co-operating in the search for Ms Attracta Harron (65), who went missing from her home in Strabane, Co Tyrone on Thursday. She was last seen leaving her home on Thursday morning to attend Mass in Lifford, Co Donegal.

A search of waterways has now begun. A PSNI spokeswoman confirmed a major operation was under way.

She said: "Members of the Foyle and Strabane search and rescue team will be

assisted by the PSNI underwater search team and the Garda underwater search

team.

"The Garda air support unit will also overfly the search area."
