Gardaí seek witnesses after man dies in Liffey Valley crash

Motorist in his 70s fatally injured when car collided with service gate on Clondalkin campus

Gardaí are seeking witnesses to a fatal collision at the Liffey Valley shopping centre in Dublin yesterday.

The incident occurred at about 3.45pm when the car in which the man, who was in his 70s, was travelling collided with a service gate on the grounds of the shopping centre in Clondalkin.

The man was removed from the scene to Connolly Hospital in Blanchardstown but his injuries were fatal and he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The scene was sealed off yesterday to allow for a forensic examination but has since reopened.
