A petrol bomb at a house in Armagh City has left a couple suffering from shock.

The device exploded on a window ledge at the house at Lonsdale Villas shortly after midnight.

The blast smashed the window and set the bathroom curtains alight.

Police said the petrol bomb may have been attached to a firework.

It is the second petrol bomb attack in the city in the past two days.

On Sunday night, a pregnant woman escaped injury when a petrol bomb exploded after being thrown at the hall door of her house in Lisannally Gardens.
