Labour's justice spokesman, Mr Joe Costello, has said the Minister for Justice failed to inform the Dail that a report to him had recommended videotaping of suspects' interviews when he introduced curbs on an suspect's right to silence. The expert group's unpublished report, details of which were first reported in yesterday's Irish Times, also recommended video-recording of interviews, a measure the Minister rejected at the time, said Mr Costello.
