A post mortem examination on the body of a 33-year-old woman found at the bottom of a stairs in her home in Cork has found she died of multiple injuries.

Gardaí are treating the death at the terraced house at Roche's Buildings, Richmond Hill as suspicious.

Gardaí have named the woman as Ms Jean Scanlon, originally from Dublin.

The woman had been living in the house for around six weeks since moving to Cork from Dublin. It is understood she had suffered severe head injuries.
