Cork City 2 Derry City 1

Cork City came from behind at Turner's Cross this afternoon to beat cup holders Derry City and leave themselves six points off the top behind Shelbourne and leaders Bohemians.

An own goal from Paddy McLaughlin and a sweet late strike, four minutes from time, from Neal Horgan cancelled out Eamonn Doherty's opener after 50 minutes.

Cork struggled to get a hold of the game in the first half as Derry made the early running, but the introduction of Colin P O'Brien rejuvenated the home side and despite conceding to Doherty's strike early in the second half, they looked a different side after the break.
