FK Metalurgs 2 Cork City 1 (Agg 3-1)
Cork City’s European adventure has come to an abrupt end after a 2-1 Intertoto Cup defeat to FK Metalurgs in Latvia this afternoon.
Two goals in the first half from Skobliakov sent the Latvians to the dressing rooms with a 2-0 lead.
In the second half, however, Pat Morley gave Cork a glimmer of hope with a 86th minute goal.
Both teams finished with 10 men. James Mulligan was sent off four minutes before half-time while Zautas was dismissed seven minutes after the restart.
