The environmental group, Genetic Concern, has sought a meeting with the Minister for the Environment following indications that genetically modified crop trials are set to increase significantly in Ireland. Mr Quentin Gargan said a meeting was necessary as they understood Mr Dempsey was formulating a policy statement on such bio-technology.
