Slainte to The Commons on St Stephen's Green - the latest restaurant to offer an extensive list of wines by the glass, with the acquisition of a Verre du Vin machine to keep opened bottles fresh. There are 20 wines and one champagne on offer - 12 of them at £4 a glass or less, with a reasonable spread of grapes and styles. Not sure I'd want to spend £9 on a glass of Comte Lafond Sancerre (1995) or £12.50 on a glass of Chateau de Cantin St Emilion, but maybe tiger cubs will?
