Clondalkin explosion investigated

Significant damage was caused to a house in west Dublin by an explosion last night.

Significant damage was caused to a house in west Dublin by an explosion last night.

A device exploded in the porch of a house in Shancastle Park in Clondalkin shortly after 10pm.

Nobody was injured in the incident.

A Defence Forces spokesman said a bomb disposal team carried out a post blast analysis of the scene, which was declared safe at around midnight.

Gardaí from Ronanstown are investigating the incident.

Defence Forces bomb disposal teams have been deployed 60 times so far this year.
