Beijing - Talks between America and China on claims that China is assisting in the spread of ballistic missile technology got underway on Wednesday, writes Miriam O'Donoghue.
The talks between senior Chinese officials and a high-powered US delegation led by Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, Mr Vann Van Diepen, are likely to last until today.
The US is insisting that China abide by a November 2000 commitment not to help any country develop ballistic missiles that can be used to deliver nuclear warheads.
