Martin O'Neill welcomed back unsung hero Jackie McNamara as his side sought revenge for their CIS Insurance Cup defeat at Easter Road.

The versatile Scotland international's comeback from injury, in place of youngster Liam Miller, was the only change from the team which beat Motherwell last weekend. Celtic had the chance to go 11 points clear of Rangers at the top of the Bank of Scotland Premier League, albeit until tomorrow.

But their cup exit in the capital was fresh in the mind and despite their defeat to Dunfermline, manager Bobby Williamson decided to stay with the same starting line-up.

Celtic: Douglas, Varga, Balde, Mjallby, McNamara, Lennon, Petrov, Sutton, Thompson, Larsson, Hartson. Subs: Marshall, Wallace, Beattie, Smith, Miller.

Hibernian: Andersson, Smith, Murdock, Doumbe, Whittaker, Brown, Brebner, Thomson, Riordan, O'Connor, McManus. Subs: Hyldgaard, Nicol, Dobbie, Baillie, Reid.

Referee: A Freeland (Scotland)
