London - A moving army of millions of caterpillars has infested nearly 1,000 acres of grassland - out-grazing sheep and lambs with their tireless advance and leaving farmers desperate.

A plague of around 80 million munching Antler Moth larva has decimated large areas of the Howgill fells in Cumbria, forcing sheep to lower ground.
