Castlebar company closes with loss of 25 jobs

The Computer Software Solution firm is to close its Castlebar operation with the loss of 25 jobs.

The Computer Software Solution firm is to close its Castlebar operation with the loss of 25 jobs.

The company is owned by UK-based venture capital company Alchemy which bought the operation in January 2002.

Mayor of Castlebar, Labour councillor Mr Michael Kilcoyne condemned the manner in which Alchemy announced the closure. He said the "The only explanation given by management to staff for the closure is rationalisation.

He was also critical of "fanfare job announcements" by Government ministers.
