Arsonists set fire to eight cars across parts of Belfast early this morning.

Five vehicles were destroyed, and three others were badly damaged.

The attacks, carried out between 4.45am and 6am, were centred on the Greater Shankill and York Road areas.

Detectives said no sectarian element was suspected and are examining a possible link between an arson attack last December, when seven cars were set on fire in the Woodvale area.
