In Kill, equestrian competitors won three gold and four silver medals.

Ann Foley from Abbeyleix, Gerard Healy from Cork and John Deevy from Waterford all took gold in their events, while silver medals were won by Stephen Roche from Athy, Michael Joyce from Castlebar, Kevin O'Connor from Kanturk and Jane Spillane from Corbally.

Over in the RDS, the table-tennis team added to its success with one gold and two silver medals yesterday.

Michael O'Connor from Enniscorthy took gold with a straight sets victory.

The silver medal-winner was team mate Brian Cork from Dún Laoghaire while the other silver was won by Michael O'Grady from Bantry.

Pamela Mayes and Dympna Brown from Armagh won the silver medal in the bocce mixed pairs yesterday. Their Northern Ireland teammates June Webb and Joanne Donnell took the bronze.

At the gymnastics events, next door, Meghan O'Halloran from Cork collected a gold and two bronze medals for her rhythmic ball-and-ribbon performances.

Over in Abbotstown, Maeve Phillips from Lucan was the sole Irish medal-winner when she secured a gold for her 50 metres freestyle.

In Blanchardstown, Strabane's Martina McGrath took silver in her 10-pin bowling event while the Mayo duo of Kiera Joyce and Teresa Keane also took silver in the doubles.

Charles Whelan and Brendan O'Brien took the bronze in their event.

In the badminton men's doubles, bronze went to Riobard Lankford from Cork and Colm Brennan from Waterford.
