FACED WITH the Jedward juggernaut, singer-songwriter Karl Broderick has taken his chances of winning the Eurovision elsewhere.
He has co-written Twilight, an entry for the Romanian national song contest which takes place on Saturday night.
Broderick wrote the 2005 Eurovision entry for Donna and Joe McCall entitled Love?which did not make it out of the semi-final.
Having surmised correctly that Jedward's fan base and their appearance at last year's competition would make them impossible to beat in the Irish contest, Broderick decided to enter the song Twilightin the Romanian song contest.
The song is a nod to Romania’s most famous fictional character Dracula, which was created by Irishman Bram Stoker, along with the hugely successful vampire film franchise.
The song will be performed by X Factorfinalists T&L who are popular in Romania.
Broderick is hoping to cause an upset in Romania.
“I really do feel like the underdog as it’s a public phone vote and jury vote, and unfortunately I don’t have many friends or family to pick up the phone in Romania, but the song has gotten a huge boost by T&L.”
