A 16-year-old boy was arrested following a seizure of ammunition in Belfast last night.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested following a seizure of ammunition in Belfast last night.

Police discovered over 2,200 rounds of ammunition in the Garnerville area of loyalist east Belfast, a spokesman said.

Elsewhere, a man is recovering in hospital this morning after being shot in the leg in what police described as a paramilitary-style attack in Co Antrim.

The man was attacked near Islandmagee Road in Whitehead shortly after 11 p.m.
